Feature guide
Adding tasks
- Pull down. Pull the list down anywhere in Hyper and a new task card opens with the keyboard ready.
- Quick add. The composer stays open after each task. Type, return, type, return.
- Siri. "Hey Siri, remind me to call Joe at 6pm." It lands in Apple Reminders and syncs into Hyper when Reminders sync is on.
- Action Button. Map the iPhone side button to Hyper and a task box opens from anywhere, even the Lock Screen.
- Widgets. Tap a Lock Screen or Home Screen widget and the composer is waiting. Tap a time on the Schedule widget to add a task at that hour.
- Calendars. Events from the calendars you choose land on your schedule automatically.
- Share sheet. Send a link or text to Hyper from any app.
- Mac menu bar. A keystroke opens the menu-bar box with the cursor already in the field.
Working with tasks
- Complete. Tap the circle. Completed tasks gather at the bottom; tap the checkmark to bring one back.
- Long-press a task for Edit, Select, Snooze (later today, tomorrow, next week), Flags, Calendar and Copy.
- Most Important Task. Long-press and choose "Set as Most Important Task". It gets a gold crown at the top of the day. In Settings you can have Hyper ask you to pick one each morning and remind you about it.
- Swipe left to select several tasks, then snooze, move, flag, complete or delete them together.
- Subtasks. Drag a task slightly to the right under another to indent it. Long-press to unindent.
- Flags and labels. Colour flags you define in Settings, filterable from the top of Today.
- Snooze. Push a task to later today, tomorrow or next week. Default snooze times are in Settings.
Goals, repeats and streaks
- Repeat. Tap the repeat arrows on a card: Daily, Weekly (pick the days), Monthly or Yearly, with a target such as "3 times a week".
- Streaks. Every check mark adds to the year heat map. Keep the chain going.
- Goals from calendar events. If a calendar event has the same name as one of your goals (a "Gym" event and a Gym goal), Hyper shows the goal at that time instead of a second entry, and tells you the first time it happens. Tick the goal to count it. Long-press any goal and choose Calendar to link or unlink an event by hand.
Notes, photos and sketches
- Notes. Tap a task to open its card and write underneath, with bold, italic, headings and lists.
- Photos and files. Attach with the paperclip. Pinch to zoom, and mark up a photo with the pen.
- Sketches. Draw with a finger on iPhone or Apple Pencil on iPad. Sketches stay attached to the card and sync everywhere.
- Links. Paste a link and Hyper saves it with a title. Tap it to open the page.
Your day and your calendar
- Schedule. Tap TODAY at the top to open the hourly schedule. Drag a task onto a time.
- Calendars. In Settings → Calendars choose which calendars to show. Turn on "Auto-add events as tasks" and today's events become tasks you can check off. Hyper never edits or deletes anything on your calendars.
- Apple Reminders. Turn on Reminders sync and Hyper uses a Reminders list called "Hyper". Anything added there, by Siri or the Reminders app, appears in Hyper, and completing it in Hyper completes it there.
- Live reminders. Optional notifications at a task's scheduled time.
Focus
- Pomodoro timer. Start a focus session from any task. The timer lives in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen while you work.
- Counts. See your Pomodoros for today, this week and this month.
Lists
- Any list. Shopping, links, projects, whatever you need, with drag to reorder.
- Shared lists. Share a list with a short invite code. Everyone can add and check off items.
- Pinned. Pin the lists you use most so they sit at the top, on iPhone and in the Mac menu bar.
On every device
- iPhone and iPad. Widgets, Live Activities, Siri, and customisable shortcuts when you long-press the app icon.
- Apple Watch. Your schedule, habits, lists and shopping on your wrist, with complications.
- Mac. Menu-bar quick add, arrow keys to move between tasks and return to check one off, one-click card preview, and cards open side by side.
- Sync. Everything syncs through your own iCloud. No account, no servers, no sign-in.
Settings worth knowing
- Appearance, including dark mode.
- Auto-clear completed and hide tasks after completing them.
- Import tasks from Apple Reminders, Todoist, Things, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, TickTick or Notion.
- Recently Deleted in the sidebar keeps every deleted task and list, with its history, until you restore it or delete it forever.
- Data & Storage shows what is stored and lets you export a diagnostic log for support.
Common questions
My tasks aren't showing on my other device
Hyper syncs through your own iCloud. Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive turned on, and to have been online recently. Open Hyper on the device that is behind and give it a minute. Still stuck? Email us with the two device names.
A goal moved to a time I didn't set
A calendar event with the goal's name paired with it. Long-press the goal, choose Calendar, then Unlink, and Hyper won't pair that goal by name again.
I checked something off by mistake
Completed tasks gather at the bottom of the list. Tap the checkmark to bring one back. Every deleted task and list goes to Recently Deleted in the sidebar, where Restore brings it back with its history. Permanent deletion happens only from there.
Subscription and billing
Your subscription is handled by Apple. To change or cancel it, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new device, open Hyper → Settings → Restore Purchases. Refunds are issued by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where is my data?
On your devices and in your iCloud. We have no servers and cannot see your tasks. See the Privacy Policy.
